Terms and Conditions: Top of the Rock Walking Tours

Arrivals and Departures

We assume you will be arriving at our nearest airport CORK, or on the Swansea-Cork ferry at Ringaskiddy, near Cork, sometime on Friday morning, the first day of your walking holiday. If you confirm to us your arrival times we may be able to arrange a group  collection from Cork. Otherwise you will use the Bus Eireann service  to Bantry.  Departure from Ballylickey to Cork on Friday morning can be facilitated by group collection also.  We will apply a minimum charge for these transfers  on the day.

If you are coming by any other means we would expect you to arrive at the Seamount B&B by 8pm on the Friday evening

We will require your arrival/departure details one week in advance. We advise you not to take an early departure flight out of Cork on the final Saturday as you may not  be able to get there early by public transport.

Equipment:

Strong walking boots are essential, as is raingear and warm clothing suitable to the time of year. We can advise on this. Please keep an eye on advance weather forecasts before you travel. This can be done on www.metcheck.com (type in Bantry) Top of the Rock Walking Tours reserve the right to refuse a walker on any walk if the leader of the walk deems the footwear to be unsuitable or unsafe.

Travelling alone.

We welcome individual walkers. If you require a room on your own, a single supplement of €35/night will apply, but we cannot always guarantee that single rooms will be available. However we will do our best to organise twin-bedded rooms for those willing to share a room with someone of the same sex.

Accomodation

Accomodation is in Failte Ireland registered 3-4* B&B. We reserve the right to change to similar accommodation without notice where deemed necessary.

Information on tours

We try to ensure that all information is accurate, but we will not be held responsible for  changes to the programme due to weather and circumstances beyond our control. Any expenses incurred by the walker because of delay, or curtailment of services provided by the tour operator will be the responsibility of the walker.

Top of the Rock Walking Tours reserves the right to cancel or change any tour due to unforeseen circumstances. If a tour is cancelled due to there being less than six persons we will endeavour to offer an alternative and all monies will be refunded.

Booking will only be accepted on our Booking Form. Make sure all questions are answered fully and is signed by the lead person on the form.

Payment

A booking deposit of €100 per person is required on signing the booking form, and the remainder of the monies should be paid 21 days before the starting date of the holiday.

Cancellations:

All cancellations must be in writing, fax, post or email. If you cancel your holiday you will lose your deposit. If you cancel fourteen days or less before the start of the holiday, you will lose 100% of the full payment you have made. To avoid this loss we advise you take out adequate travel insurance cover.

Luggage.

For walkers the less luggage, the more freed up your holiday becomes! Space is at a premium in family run B&Bs and luggage transfer vehicles are not equipped to take a huge amount, so please confine your luggage to a sensible limit. Should you lose any items during your stay, you are personally responsible to have it insured.

Complaints:

In the unlikely event of a complaint or grievance please contact David Ross immediately . You will be given a mobile no for 24hour access. All complaints must be registered with our office in writing no more than 14 days after the completion of the holiday. We cannot process your claim if this procedure  is not adhered to .

David and Elizabeth Ross wish you a fulfilling and enjoyable walking holiday and we will make every effort to make this happen.
